The Gialova Lagoon, also known as Divari, is located about 8 kilometres north of Pylos.
A protected reserve
It is a protected natural and cultural reserve covering approximately 6,000 stremmas, around 600 hectares.
Many habitats in one place
Its brackish, shallow waters hold a range of microhabitats: reed beds, tidal mudflats, cedar forest, sandy beaches and vertical cliffs. Voidokilia Beach sits at its western edge.
